Доход компании, превышающий ее нормальную прибыль (см. Normal profit). Краткосрочная сверхприбыль, которую компании могут получить в результате несбалансированности спроса и предложения, способствует более эффективному распределению ресурсов, привлечению в отрасль новых компаний и увеличению предложения товаров и услуг. Долгосрочная сверхприбыль монопольного производителя (monopoly/supernormal profit), наоборот, приводит к неэффективному распределению ресурсов и закрывает доступ на рынок новым компаниям (cм.
